    Camera Shops Closed
I was shocked to discover 2 of my go to camera stores have closed their doors.

    https://www.canogacamera.com/

    and

    http://www.calumetphoto.com/

I just found out Calumet was around for 75 years but recently went bankrupt.

I was thinking about where I was at with my photo gear. I realized that I haven't wanted to buy or upgrade because I was satisfied with the tech in my camera bag. The latest Canon releases did not give me a reason to upgrade. I'm not saying I could've stimulated the local photo economics here but I was just wondering where the market was heading.

    Thoughts?

Dang, Calumet closed huh. They were up in Escondido, had a nice store. I had rented a lens from them once, and bought some stuff too, but I use George's Camera and Nelson's for general photography equipment now. I used to use Chrome Digital for printing but it's been years since I printed anything (dang!).

Well I think camera sales are down. People are using their IPhones more.

"likes" addiction is killing the low end cameras with no wi-fi
add wi-fi to all new cameras so people can receive their share of "likes" as soon as possible

it may be a difference like film and waiting to have it developed / printed vs the instant feedback from digital cameras

Regarding the closure of local camera stores, they may have been the victims of large online stores.

    just my personal opinion
