Now, I just might be conflicted.

Work (PR) is a Nikon. (D2x)
Other Work (Video) is a Canon (lens wise, video is a sony)
Freelance (video) is a Fuji (Again, lens wise) (JVC 550)
Fun (video) is a Canon (GL2)
    Fun is a KonicaMinolta (Z10)
    Weddings are a Nikon (D1x)

Now...the dealbreaker... Shared by a group of friends... is a Kodak buuuut - Nikon lenses.

perhaps...I will just have to withdrawl. Because there is no doubt,

    KONICA MINOLTA SHALL RULE!!

Of course, now I'd have to vote 4 times...one for Kodak...one for Nikon and 2 for Pentax...hahaha...

As for choosing a subject...I'm going to suggest, since we are beginning Spring next week, that we do some budding flowers and trees. I also like the idea of landscapes and lines in Nature. Of course, we don't want to leave out anyone, so maybe we should just have a "Post your best shots". This would allow everyone to post pics of their best forms of shooting. And I agree...NO VOTING...Just for fun.
I do think that we should put some stipulations though...to include...
    1. Type of Camera
    2. For DSLR'S & SLR'S ... post your settings and setup inc. lenses, iso, ss, priority or manual, etc...(auto settings ok)
    3. For Prosumer P/S's...post your settings, same as above exc. lens. (Auto settings ok)
    4. For P/S's...let us know if you used a preset or just used auto settings.
(1-4 to allow us noobs to learn from the more experienced shooters.)
    5. This is just a thought...since this is a "camera" contest...then post pics straight out of the camera. You would be allowed to use your adjustments "in camera"...but no Photoshop, PictureIt, Corel, or other photo-adjustment software, except RAW/PEF/NEF etc. adjustment. *(honor system).
    Just some thoughts...

    Hey Ken

Sorry I missed your post before I posted the contest thread. I think those are good suggestions, maybe we'll incorprate them into the NEXT contest!

I really want this to be a goofy, fun, tongue in cheek kind of a thing. If it heats up into a battle over whose camera is better then I will have the whole thing locked and deleted.

Gotta keep the positive vibes going :)

    Thanks!

Cool Rick...I like the idea and maybe we can just get something going, as you suggested, after this first one is over. I am always looking for educational ways of doing things...I guess it's the teacher in me. I'm already planning my strategy for "money". Kim has a couple of great money shots I found the other day from the first weekend she started shooting. I think she shot them with the Nikon, so she'll have post them as a NS...hehe...what do you think about the name "The Pentax Taxmen" and we use the slogan...."THE TAXMAN COMETH" hahahaha...for the contest...we'll use the IRS logo for our logo...The reasoning is because of the subject of current contest...hehehe

The Pentax Taxmen... LOL! I love it. As long as your wife doesn't prefer "taxpersons" :D

Becareful with copyrights using the IRS logo! You don't want the REAL taxman to cometh!

Glad you're working on a money theme. I am working on one too. Gotta get out and support the Samurai! ;)

So, newbie question here, how does one become an official Clan O'Canon Member?

    Killroy,

It's simple. Just give yourself a nickname like "Roy O Canon" and put it in your signature (from the My Account tab.) And then you can borrow the symbol from someone else's signature and paste it into your sig as well.

    Welcome to the fray!

No clay pipe twixt ma fine full scottish lips. We may shoot wuth the same gun, but I walk alone in the the world, wuth naught but the ghosts of ma fathers to keep ma company. You think abou' that.

    Wha?

Is this what happens to Canon users minds after a few years? :D
