    Boing !

So I was looking how the in camera flash can be used to control a remote flash, (which I do not have yet) but in the process discovered that my camera can repeat the flash for a number of times and decided to try it

The repeat function for the in camera flash can repeat the flash at a specific frequency for a number of times, number of repeats increases by using a reduced power

I tried shooting a bouncing ball, with a long exposure.

    Best results are shown here

Flash set to repeat at 40hz, 25 times, 1/64 power. so that's about 1/2 second of flash

Had the plastic ball bounce at aprox 0.5m (minimum focus distance for the particular lens)
    1 sec exposure
    F11
    ISO 1600

I wanted to have the ball contrast as much as possible versus the background, which is 7m away, and in the dark, but with 1/2 a sec flash it is still quite visible.

Not the best photo, but an interesting and fun experiment

I do not know how these feature will be used for anything else than playing

    Thanks for looking :D

Sometimes messing around with an idea to see what you get leads to big inspirations.
I won't be surprised to see you doing more with this idea.
