    The Black Book
    My girlfriend brought home the 2005 Photography Black Book today. WOW, there are some incredible images in this thing. I have never heard of it before, but from what I gathered, it's like an 800 page portfolio of hundreds of photographers, that marketers use to find photogs, and artist. Anyone here familiar with this book or maybe even have some photos in it?

    I know about the Black Book. It is pretty nice. It's also very expensive. You know you have to pay to be in it, right? There are so many other ways to market your work now, that I wouldn't take it too seriously. It sure is nice to look at though.

    A friend used to put his name in it (not a big ad, just a listing) so he got a copy every year. He gave me a couple of the old ones and you're right, there's some amazing work in there!

    I agree with John though - unless you know you need to be in that specific book you probably won't gain much from it.

    I agree, I think there are much better ways to market yourself, other than appearing in a book with 1000 other photogs. There are some great images in there, but I think the artists gets lost pretty easily being stuck in a book with so many other great artists. Still a great book to page thru and get some ideas and inspiration!
