    Neighborhood Drama

I was outside with the kids this afternoon when suddenly a commotion across the street presented itself. Not being one that is too far from a camera I plopped myself down on the curb and waited for the rest of the events to present themselves. It was kind of cool in a Man vs Wild kind of way. And yes, I'm afraid the pigeon was harmed in the making of this short documentary. These captures came after the first strike.

ps. My kids thought it was pretty cool as well.

Yeah, Initially we were pretty grossed out as well. But it was so interesting that we all just sat down and watched the whole thing. Definitely not something we see very often around here. I know my cat gets all excited when she is stalking birds -- but is too afraid to get closer than 10 feet or so.

Nature is that way a unforgiving ________. I've seen hunters, tourist, and day hikers forget that nature is unforgiving and you will pay one way or another if you are ready for the worst.

Pretty amazing that you were able to capture that. Usually all I come across is the remains - looking like a bird spontaneously combusted.

This bird looks like he's got green netting caught up in his feet? I'd hate to think that some trash caused his untimely demise.

Dang...and my cat just brings me hummingbirds.

Doesnt even kill them all the time...sometimes she'll let them go in the house.

Great capture, love the one with the cat looking back

Kinda lame about the netting though.

I wish people would me more careful about simple stuff like that.
