Just bought a case myself - one of the best $8-10 wines I've found, and it's only $2.99. Such a deal.

    Congrads Almo!

I had to look up this stuff called 2 buck chuck. Franzia, the boxed wine people, have produced a line of consumer wines under the brand name Charels Shaw ( a non-existant winery). It's all priced at $1.99, and it is only available in California at a store called Trader Joes. After reading a rather lenghty and overly descriptive article about the stuff I feel somewhat cheated that I can't pick the swill up at Publix.

Oh well, you two buck chuckers drink up and have fun.

I think it was $1.99 when it first came out, but now it's all $2.99 - still under $3 so they can keep the well-known nickname... Trader Joe's is a small grocery store chain with locations all over the country. There are a couple in the Chicago area but I'm not sure about Florida. It's not bad stuff, but definately worth trying to get it shipped. So Franzia in bottles, huh? Did not know that - can't wait to tell my wife who says she won't drink box-'o-wine...

Yeah, the only difference is that the boxed stuff is made overly sweet with added sugar for the coca cola american drinkers. Chuck is a dry wine, which is the more traditional Euro style everyday fair. Here in america though, where we are not a nation of everday wine drinkers the lower end of the wine market has been flooded with sugary crap, like the boxed swill. Chuck was, and is, and attempt to open the eyes of americans to the idea of a quality, low cost dry wine that can be imbibed on a daily, or at least simi-daily basis.

somehow we ended up with a bottle of 2002. its gross all the way around, no matter what the vintage is... but it did the job :)
My favorites are Italian Sangiovese imports!
