Battle of the Clans! Photos!
Here are ye rules!
1.) Every photo posted must somehow demonstrate the theme of "money." You may interpret this theme however you wish. However, I am invoking the "no words" rule here which means...
2.) There can be no description of what you shot! This is an artists game. If you have to tell us why it's a picture of "money" then you're breaking the rules!
3.) You must indicate which "clan" you belong to! This means that your camera must have been made by a manufacturer, and that this manufacturer must have a club on pr.com. This means that if you own a Chinon camera and there is not yet a Chinon camera club, you must invent one! Make it the "Chinon Champions!" Who cares? Start a club if there isn't one already! Make it clear which camera took the shot!
4.) You are not allowed to comment on anyone else's pictures. Except to say "nice job!" "great shot!" or other positive feedback. Negative comments or criticisms will be deemed unsportsmanlike and you will be banned! Er, from the thread. Somehow.
5.) Not matter how hard you try, YOU CANNOT WIN. This is a competition designed to bring out the best in your photography, not to show that you are better than somebody! If you are inspired to show how much better your camera is than someone else's, YOU MUST SHOW IT PHOTOGRAPHICALLY. Your work must speak for itself. There is no ranking. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO VOTE. The artwork contained in this thread is meant to stand on its own. If the best shots in the thread were made by a Polaroid, then it will be unspoken that Polaroid won the first Battle of the Clans!
This is meant to be fun and a good time for all! If you take the competition or your camera too seriously, not only will you be called a dork but you will also not be allowed to represent your camera in this competition anymore! So don't lose it!
So let's have it people! Bring out your money! :D May the best clan win! I think this contest should run for no longer than one month so that film users (such as myself) can have time to shoot, develop, scan and post. You can post old stuff too. Just remember to wear your clan letter jacket (baseball cap, whatever) when you post :D
SO LET'S SEE IT! ARGH! BRANDISH YE WEAPONS!

I upgraded to a used Canon D60 over the winter break...I've been having quite a bit of fun with it, unfortunately, it's all indoors as the weather here isn't meant for a camera just yet.

Way Cool mjs1973:cool: I really love the creative vision. I wouldn't have thought of these if I came across it. What lens(es) did you use? flash? tripod? camera body? film?

Thanks for the kind words Lionheart. I used the Canon Rebel (300D) and EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro lens. The stacked coins were hand held, the jug of change was on a tripod. I used 2 halogen shop lamps for lighting.

Thanks Liz. That piggy bank is a 5 gallon water bottle. It's almost filled and weighs about 125 pounds. I had to roll it back in place when I was done shooting it.

Re: Battle of the Clans! Photos!
Very cool shots, Michael!
I'm poor so I don't have any of that filthy stuff laying around. I'm counting myself out on this one. OK, OK, I'll get on it...

Yes! I was so thrilled with my G2. Then I sold my G2 to a friend and got the G3. It was (is) a nice camera series. My friend then bought my G3 which she still has and loves. Her daughter bought the G2. Then I moved on to the digital Rebel series (still on 350XT).

I especially like the abstract money shots here, I won't name names.
The Samurai are coiling for an attack! We're just waiting for the right moment :D

I have no money, so I'll have to be more creative and post something that cost me money. :D

Re: Battle of the Clans! Photos!
Liz,
The Clan O Canon may run, but you cannot hide! Just when you think Canon is going to win the battle...
Heeee-yaaaaaaaaaaa!!
Remember that you can interpret the "money" theme however you want. You could always show "lack" of money if you wanted to :D
