Nice shot, drg! Were you in a balloon yourself? And just where on rte 66 did this take place? I've always wanted to take some shots of a balloon festival.

    Re: Balloons over Lincoln - 2006 I

    Thanks Ray,

I was on a slight elevation but on the ground. The balloons were launching so it has the right perspective. This was on Rt. 66 and I-55 in Illinois at Lincoln, Illinois. I shoot there every year for fun or profit. I've posted some more in the gallery, and there is another image in Photo Critque forum (in a minute or two).

Balloon festivals are usually a very mellow time, they never launch in high winds so everybody just floats along and its colorful and the crowd is well behave as a general rule.

The early am lauches are my favorites. Early morning skies and cooler temps make for great photos. Some of the desert festival are awesom. Haven't shot in Scottsdale for 10+years but it was always a great event. Pretty big now days.

I have photographed from a balloon, but never a balloon festival. May have to remedy that someday.

    Thanks again!
