Backcountry Ski P&S Action
I got my first ski day of the season in yesterday. We had about 3 feet of fresh snow up at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon and I had to get up there to take advantage of it. I took three cameras - my Canon EOS 7D, the Sony TX5 waterproof point-and-shoot I reviewed this summer, and my new Canon PowerShot SD4500 IS pocket superzoom. I ended up never taking the the 7D out of the bag, instead using the two point-and-shoots for convenience. I used the Sony TX5 for video (editing the footage right now) and I shot stills with the SD4500 IS. I took a whole bunch of photos with the SD4500 IS and I'm pretty impressed with its still performance. I don't want to bore you with all my photos, but the skiers and other interested folks can see my whole report and more photos here:

Here are a few scenic photos for you - taken with the Canon PowerShot SD4500 IS. I'm working on finishing up a full pro review on this camera.
Re: Backcountry Ski P&S Action
Looks like a nice little capable camera. I like the 2nd shot with the moon.

Nice shots John. Where did you go? I have been up to Alta twice so far. Just up the corkscrew and up onto the baldy shoulder. Hoping for some more snow now:)

We went up Grizzly to the first open north-facing slope. The snow was excellent and it was a sweet way to start the season. I only went that one day and won't go again until the resorts open. I'm leaving for CA for a week, tomorrow. I did drop off a pair of new used skis (Salomon Shoguns) to get the bindings fitted to my boots, yesterday. They will be ready for shralping when I get back from my trip :D
