B&H Photo Warehouse - Huge Fire
The warehouse and photo process plant ( not the retail store ) is on fire as I typ. It is located at the old Brooklyn Navy Yard in Brooklyn NY. The NY news TV channels are reporting it as a very extensive fire. I'll try to bring you up to date after the 11 PM EST news

I deleted mine - actually we posted about the same time, and I didn't see yours either. Your's was actually about 3 minutes before mine! I decided to delete mine - and will copy/post here what I posted.

Just a mini suggestion - you might want to add "Fire in" or something similar in the title - I think more people will read it. Your choice though.

    Copy/pasted from my post.

"Huge fire at one of B&H's shipping warehouses - in Brooklyn Navy Yard this afternoon. They have several warehouses. They have one store. I feel bad for them. The article mentions TV's and monitors. I hope their photo equipment is store somewhere else! At any rate, it's a huge loss. They certainly will survive - thank goodness it's not the store, but a loss at any rate. They are the largest photography equipment store in NY - and probably the US. I frequent the place - go everytime I'm in NY."

    More warehouses
B&H has more shipping/storage warehouses. Maybe yours is somewhere else. ;)

Also - the news mentioned TV's & Monitors.......who knows, but maybe they use another warehouse for photo equipment. Well, we can hope!

I also feel badly for them. Not a good feeling - and they will be closing shortly for their Holy Days.

    Re: More warehouses
    Hi Liz,

I do feel bad for them, and I hope that the loss wasn't human too.

B&H is so large that I'm sure that it could be a supplementary warehouse location. My shipment of photo equipment was shipped out today without issued so hopefully the loss is limited.

    Prior link isn't working.
    http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/news/wab...yyardfire.html seems to work.
