    87Years Young & New Lens!

I met this beautiful lady tonight!

Her granddaughter's husband turned 50 and they hired me as the photog for the B'Day Party - which started tonight (I put in 4 hours!), and I will be there again tomorrow night (scheduled for 2 more hours!). About 100 people are celebrating all weekend long and tonight was just a 'warm-up' party!

This lovely lady stopped by for an hour or so, and I grabbed a few shots with her in a wheelchair.

By the way - it was my first gig with my new 24-70 F2.8 - what a beauty of a lens! The party area was extremely low light, and I did miss a few shots because it was searching. Overall, I am very happy with it so far, although my arms are hurting.

Hopefully this grandmother will be there again tomorrow (although I doubt it).

    Good lens isn't it?
I really notice the difference when I go from the L series 24-70 and 70-200 to the EF-S 10-22 it's almost as if the camera isn't there !

Beautiful results Kathy. I know what you mean about the weight my 28-70 f2.8 nikkor is the built like a tank and feels like it after you shot with it for a few hours. But the results are well worth that extra weight.

I love the shot of the sax and hands as well.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    Great stuff...

Beautiful shot of yes, a beautiful lady. Nice job, Kathy. You managed to show much of her character while still making her look pretty (let's be real - women of ALL ages still want to look attractive), and did it with a fairly hard direct light. That's a tough task, but you pulled it off...
