    San Diego Airshow

My turn to post a few airshow images.

It's sad when you get what you consider really nice shots but realize that everyone else is getting the exact same photos....

    Hey GB,

I really like the second shot with the two Red Baron biplanes. I can hear the engines and props and smell the smoke oil....ahhhhhh.

    Re: San Diego Airshow

Aw man I love that last shot. For those not from here, this was the first time in like 35 years or so that the USAF Thunderbirds were in town. San Diego is all Navy/Marines so we usually get the Navy's Blue Angels. I guess they couldn't fit us into their schedule this year.

It's nice to have a change though. I really wanted to go see them, but I had friends visiting from out of town and they had other plans. Oh well hopefully they'll come back next year.

Oh and BTW I live like a half mile from MCAS Miramar (where the air show is) yet I haven't been to a show for many years now..

Not always - lenses pointed in the same direction don't always equal the same results. Close though, and I know what you're saying. This can happen in a lot of situations. Still, nice shots!

    Re: San Diego Airshow

    Thks for looking everyone!

I posted them in the ViewFinder because it just seems like every photographer eventually gets shots of air shows (just like NE leaves, the Grand Canyon, etc) I'm surprised that the bottom shot came out so well, given that the camera was aimed almost directly at the sun. The Thunderbirds were OK, but the biplanes stole the show -- I_Fly, you should have heard the whining noise they made! Like an old WWI battle for sure.

Canuck, you should go sometime. But I know what you mean cause it's the first time I've been in the 10 years I've been out here

I like that last shot too. It reminds me of flying off into the sunset. It has a nice effect.
