Asylum Steve and Sebastian -- Follow up on music thread!
Well gentleman, we had been discussing Tears For Fears back in the relaxing music thread. So, I figured I'd follow up...

I downloaded TFF's newest release, "Everybody Loves a Happy Ending", from iTunes yesterday. I didn't know what to expect. Old guys trying to be something they're not? A bogus, "Let's make some money and do a half-hearted reunion album"?

I'm happy to report that this is an excellent collection of music. (I say collection and not Album or CD because, well, I downloaded it and it sits on my hard-drive :)) It definitely has some pop tunes, but it follows up where Seeds of Love left off. There are plenty of execellent "not meant for radio" songs. There's no question that Elemental was a little more broody and melodic, but the new stuff has a lot of depth too. It needs to be listened to a couple times to begin to absorb it. Which is really one of the reasons I like TFF. Every time I listen to their music, I catch something new in most every song.

Anyway, it's now on my list of very good CD's, and will definitely receive a lot of relaxation play.

    Good to hear...
I know what you mean about these "comeback" albums. It's usually a roll of the dice (think Duran Duran :D )...

The thing that had me confident about TFF is that these guys are very dedicated songwriters and musicians, and passing time doesn't mean they've run out of ideas, but rather that they were stockpiling ideas.

I would be very surprised if Roland Orzabal put his name on anything that wasn't well done...

Glad to hear it! I was on the verge of buying it yesterday but I held off. I will check it out again tonight. :)
