Arnie's froo-froo

My husband keeps a pretty darn nice yard. Over an acre.

My labardoodle puppy has been tearing into his flowers in the back so he did planters all around. This is one of his froo-froo lilies from one of his many planters. I'm trying to slow down and get used to shooting with a pod. Tripods just go against my grain. :)

Great capture Jeta. Love the angle and composition.

Tripods are somewhat cumbersome when you first get one ... but after a while you won't mind at all.

Very nice capture Jeta, learn to use the tripod they are very useful. I know they can seem clumsy but well worth the shots you can get with them.

Nice one JETA. I agree about the tri-pod. I generally just don't have the patience either. But as others have said we need to learn to slow down and take advantage of the tri-pods assets.

This is a beautiful shot. I love the composition - and the color.

About tripods. I purchased one a long time ago and used it once. Thankfully it was a cheap one. However, I have a slight camera-shake problem, although the effects really don't show too often. Some people have suggested a monopod with legs that hide until you push a button that extends them. We'll see - I don't have the patience nor the desire to take anything else with me when shooting. :rolleyes:

lol, hey JETA, I have 8 dogs that could help your dog with the "yard work" :eek: Gizmo is an expert at shredding branches (and everything else) and all of them can help with fertilizing the yard :rolleyes:

I'm saving energy now on paper shredding, anything I need shredded I just give it to Gizmo and he shredds it. He gets all the junk mail so he gets plenty of practice :thumbsup:

Thanks everyone. The tripod definitely helps with macro shots and helps me see things differently. I do admit framing up the perfect shot is kinda fun. Kinda. ;)

JS, Fiona's nickname is Shredder. She and Gizmo would become best friends.

Very nice. The thing about the tripod is you can really stop down to get your dof as long as your subject isn't blowing in the wind.

This is so true and one of the reason I have enjoyed the tripod. A photographer friend of mine is going to take me out night shooting. I'm really excited to try some long exposure shots of the new Narrows Bridge (one of the longest suspension bridges in the world)
