Anyone try fire?

HAs anyone tried close ups of fire. i did a couple shots this is what i got. not to excited about them, though i do think they're kinda neat in spots.

I do take pictures of fire on occassion. Funny you should ask :)

I took these about a month ago on a ski trip. I shoot at night without a flash to get the effect of the flames a little bit differently. I 've tried it with flash and don't care for the result.

I shot these with a Nikon 885 digi handheld or braced against something (like the top of my girlfriend's head) while adjusting the exposure to get a cool shot.

I really like the pics. I'll have to try some more while i'm hiking the Jaun De Fuca trail on vancouver Island at the end of the month. Hopefully we'll have enough enegy to still be by the fire while it's dark. stays light so long now.
