    Anyone ever heard....

I just happened to stumble across this guys website. Very impressive! Even more so since this kid is only 17! Some of his work really reminds me of some of Brents work.

This kid is great . Thanks for linking his site. What I wouldn't give to have a portfolio like that and just 17!! I wish one of you PP experts would give me a little insight into how he achieves this look.

Thanks adina. I would really like to learn more about it. I found his work as exciting as any new photographer I have seen in a long time.

I've seen that style of post-processing before online, just can't remember where.

    Re: Anyone ever heard....

This guy is beyond a freak! And I mean that as a compliment. To have that good an eye, be able to create shots with large concepts like that, and to be able to add that much edgy style in post-processing at that age is truely unbelievable.

He was recentley featured in one of the digital photography magazines. Oh, and I think he's older than 17 by now. Maybe 18???

Normally the thought of giving $300 to some young hot shot so he can give me some lessons on how to create photos would make me completely nauseous...:cryin:

But this guy is obviously a remarkable prodigy (both with a camera and post-processing), and thing is much his style is precisely what I would like to have with my work.

I really think his download/DVD might be well worth the money...

Well Joey and I have one thing in common...............

We have the same website template. Too funny. His sure looks different than mine though!

Will be interesting to see how his style changes as he gets older.

    thanks,

    Re: Anyone ever heard....

I agree with Steve on this one $300 may not be out of the question for his DVD. Got to remember though that it all starts with the original photo. You may be able to duplicate his style but can you produce the kind of edgy image that will benefit from it?

Hard to say, but normally one who is that good with that much success that early on either gets burned out or bored with still shooting.

If I had to make a guess, I'd say he''ll eventually become a movie or video director...

That's a great point, OT, and one that I was sort of implying in my post...

No, his tutorials are not a magic formula for the average shooter to suddenly create great and wonderfully stylish images by any means.

If you don't have a truely creative "eye", a professional way of working with people and setting up shoots, and a near-flawless workflow to deliver work to clients on a deadline, you're probably not going to be successful no matter what actions you have in photoshop or who's holding your hand as you post-process...

I feel my commercial work is only missing a few pieces, namely a consistently recognizable edgy style that stands out (yeah, not asking too much there!). His help may go a long way towards filling that gap.

As for the price, I've spent that much in the past simply for filter bundle plug-ins and hi-res texture DVDs. For what you get for the money, IMO it's a great value...

I have heard of him and seen some of his work before. . .I think he is fantastic.
I'm not certain, but he might have been featured in Digital PhotoPro magazine. On a funny note, check out his featured fanmail for, I think it was September 2007.

big baldo - thank you for bringing this young gentleman to our attention. Wow!

Looking at his photojournalism work, he has the eye and heart of someone who has traveled the earth for far more number of years than this guy has been alive.

To have such an understanding of photography, the technical skills of post processing, and the creative mind to pull it all together is the work of genius. I wouldn't be able to come up with a such creative imagery in my head - let alone going out and actually capturing and then creating it.
