    new business cards have arrived!

Per Sebastian's suggestion (see thread redesigned b-card...need comments) I placed my business card order with www.americasprinter.com and just received them today. I must say I am impressed with their quality and pricing, and turnaround time was less than a week. The only the gripe I have is that one can't be there when they go to print so as to insure color accuracy. My CMYK colors turned out a bit more on the purplish side than blue. But other than that they turned out very nice and I would highly recommend their services. Thanks Sebastian!

I do a lot of color work for my day job - I don't know if you have a photo on the card or not - but for all other colors - get a pantone color wheel and specify pantones on your order. I use an odd color orange on my cards and logo (not around here - around here it's Univ. of TN orange), and have to always include pantone for the orange and warm gray colors on the business card. It almost always matches perfectly.

Yeah, it was my fault for not providing the pantone colors. But for my purposes I can live with it. If it was a client, it would be an entirely different matter!

Will try to get a photo up later, but it's essentially the same as in the link provided above.

    I agree...

Good point, Penny. Disney protects their intellectual property with an IRON FIST. Down here they actually sued a local day care center because they had the "gall" to paint Disney figures on the side of their buildings without permission.

BTW, Warner Brothers said the Looney Toons characters on the building were ok by them and could stay... ;)

IMO, the chances of getting a property release from them is slim. Still, it is a "semi-abstract" image, so if it were me, I'd use the cards until an official representative presented me with legal documentation telling me not to...

    They are, however, awesome cards!

Thanks Penny, and everyone else! I've probably handed out about 25 of them just at work alone. I can't tell you how many times people come up to me when I'm shooting on the beach or something and they ask for a business card and I ain't got one. Well, no mo'!

And thanks for pointing out the possible legal tangle, although I'm really unsure how they could prosecute such a thing especially when I am sure hundreds of buildings have appeared in the backgrounds of hundreds of their movies. What? Do they have to get permission from every single building in NYC before they can start shooting a film there? Just how does that work?
