Dear Forum,

Thankyou for your company over the last few months. I'm headed back to work today. My time on Photography Review, will be much reduced in large blocks over the next 6 months.

I've enjoyed your company greatly. I certainly have enjoyed seeing shots of your stomping grounds.

I'm still finding many limitations with the HDR/Photomatix process which has been my all consuming winter project ... it is a very enjoyable way of searching out the tonalities in a digital image and would recommend the technique and process to all those who may not have tried digital High Dynamic Range imagery, to add to your kits of different techniques.

I'm going to shoot film for a while to reassess where the brightness range and the image tonalities are compressed digitally, over using film. I'm already learning bad habits with digital cameras, giving enough time, I could really lose the plot.

I've had a great time with photography over the last 4 months and thankyou for being fine image makers here on the Forum. I don't post on many threads but I've read a lot of posts.

I have a good job to return to, making sailboats go fast. If you watch the fattest looser guys get fit, that is all I'll be doing for months now, the life of a sportman. This coming Spring and Summer will result in much time being spent away from home. A huge amount of time goes into prepping the yachts and training and travelling away to race.

Very nice to have had the chance to chat with you Warren, can't wait until you full time return. Hopefully, you'll have sometime to get some nice sailing shots to post on here when you get the chance.
I've only been sailing once or twice, but really loved it. Grew up in the desert so never had too much of an opportunity.
Anyway, have fun, be safe, and see you next season.

Steve nothing too flash, just hard work with much time on the water. I took up sailing so that I wouldn't have to walk or swim too far ... boy was I wrong.

On Thursday last, I couldn't stand up, I slept all day from exhaustion. Sailing open keelboats is good fun, it is getting fit enough to avoid injuries and being ablt to sustain long periods of concentration, that is getting harder and harder each year. My Skipper Leigh Nielsen and I are racing in the World Championships in one of the Open Keelboat Classes, and I've a couple of National Titles, in multihulls and Open Keel boats to do before the big one. We will qualify for the World Championship, if we stay totally focussed and get fit enough and sail non stop. It is all about time on the water.

Warren, good luck in your races and have a fun summer while doing it. :D Us in the UP TOP are starting to feel the warmth of summer fade as September arrives. Hopefully this winter here on the prairies will be as mild as the last one. :rolleyes:
