#800...coming out of the closet

So while this isn't Rick's big 1000 post life-altering news, I figured 800 would be a good number to share my news.

I recently happened upon a childrens boutique in a fairly high end area. I was purchasing some dresses for the girls, and started chatting with the owner. Fast forward to the end result....I have 6 large prints hanging, and cards at the desk. After a bit of deliberation, I've decided to test the waters regarding my children's stuff. So far the reaction has been amazing, and the people I've worked with so far have been thrilled to death. While the business end of things can be a little intimidating, I really love meeting these new families, who are completely in love with their children. And since they have already seen some of my work, there are no preconcieved notions about dopey outfits and phony smiles.

It's been a little over a month, and things are going well. I was holding off on mentioning it until I had a feel for how it was going. This is the area that I am in www.historicthirdward.org , and something recent.

Adina, I don't think anyone here will be surprised by that. Congrads, your work is excellent and people need to see it. The Third Ward is a neat area, only been there a couple of times but I'll have to check it out more this summer.

If you have your girl's photos hanging around in public, you ought to be expecting modelling offers for them soon.

As far as posting goes, it's quality, not quantity that counts.

fortunately for me I wear my tiara at all times, lest anyone be confused as to my greatness :)

the whole thing has been an incredible learning experience, if nothing else. And it's really neat for me to hear "oh I saw your photos at such and such"

My husband saw them up for the first time last weekend, it was such a good feeling to know that he was impressed.
