There's a crescent moon out tonight if anyone cares to shoot it from their own neck of the woods :)

Wow we're winding down here. It's been a blast. I have really enjoyed this little day long exercise. My darling daughter thinks that I may have picked on her today. And I guess I have, right up to the last hour. Here is an image of her on the phone to her big sis in Nashville. And of course she thought that she needed some retribution so here I am in all my glory as grouchy as ever. It's been a blast. Thanks to every one for participating.

This weekend in Austin is the Republic of Texas Biker Ralley. Usually there are about 200 thousand bikers in town. The weather has slowed them down.

    My ride home from work:

If you can't read the sign on the trailor, it says Harley Davidson...and you can see the clouds.

    And...then it rains.

My poor girlfriend had her wisdom teeth taken out this morning. Isn't she cute looking like a chipmunk? :) Well, I think so.

Alright here is my second batch. Still some time left in the eve, but I think I am done.

I decided to hike the Castle Rock of Castle Rock Colorado and get some photos. I needed a guide that was sure of the way to the peak. He was playing Guitar Hero when I drug him out of the house to help with the photos.

We hiked to the peak for a great photo op. Man I am handsome!

Thanks John. I hope we get a bunch more photos coming in tonight!

It looks like we're going to squeeze another one in soon. That'll be the last one until the fall season.

Taking Flight is my WPD 2006 entry and one of my afternoon entries for 24 hours of PR. This is straight out of the camera with only a crop. Shot at 1:13 pm Central Time.

I go to that particular trail hoping to get some bird shots from a specific tree but nothing came my way except a couple. I did however get some bugs for the first time.

When I was leaving my usual trail head, I saw people coming out of an area usually gated off. I stopped one person and asked if cars were allowed there. He said yes. I usually bike to the Nike Missle site but I got to drive there for the first time. Its was fun.

I'll shoot more next time I go there. I didn't have time today.

One more shot from the Nike site. I forgot what the name was on that body of water. You would never know it was there bacause you can't see it from street level.

After nike, I went to the park of my son's Saturday birthday to scope out a location. We hope to get the one in the photo but I'll have to be there early. The early bird gets the worm....and speaking of birds...I got some birds shots while there.

I didn't get to do anything after sunset. Had too much to do once I got home. The attached shot was taken right before 12AM, Friday. I used CANON's REMOTE CAPTURE for the first time. Imagine the possibilities!!

Old Timer's shots were great by involving all those people. Freaking awesome! I was impressed on how others kept the quality/standards of their shots so high for this project. I used my old 4MP Canon G2 most of the time until after work. Makes me want to do better next time.

I enjoyed everyone's shots. I went through the thread multiple times. Thanks.

PJ, glad you liked the shot after the bowl of cereal :D :D

We're doing it again on Saturday, Rick? As we say in poker, "I'm all in!"

I wanna play too! It was a long day yesterday. I left for work around 4:45am and got home at about 9:30pm. I had my camera with me all day and have pics to post, but haven't had time to get them out of my camera just yet. Hopefully I can get them posted tonight.

    Great images everyone!!

How about some astrophotography shots? These definitely are evening (night) shots. :-)

EXIF data says these were taken between 9:34:55 and 10:39:27 pm.

I got out the D200 and the tripod and took a few shots of the moon. Then I got out the Celestron C8 and took a few more shots. Let me say right now, FILM RULES when it comes to astrophotography! I was not particuarly pleased with these, but here they are.

First shot is was taken with the D200 and the 80-200mm f 2.8. Cropped for PR.

Second shot was taken with the C8. Reduced for PR. One cool thing about digital is that my Celestron went from 2032mm to an effective 3048mm lens! Now if I can get some decent images with it...

Third shot is of Jupiter and it's four Galileon moons. Cropped and resized for PR. The blurring is from the wind and the 1/10 second exposure.

Yup. When we decided to get a new one, dh custom built it so we could get exactly what we wanted. So he showed me the case, and I said "ohh it's pretty!" It is, however, much bigger than we thought. :D
