Re: 2009 Fireworks Thread
I haven't gone to the trouble of making any composites yet but here are a couple from the Ft Lauderdale show...(various focal lengths & shutter speeds) There are oviously some "jaggies" but this is one of the drawbacks to picking a spot atop a 7 story parking garage, even when using the 2 sec. timer.

Re: 2009 Fireworks Thread
These are some very good examples. Is it possible to get some of you to add your camera settings for the members that are trying this for the first time? Fireworks opportunities don't come along that often and knowing the settings may be helpful for members learning how to take these kinds of photos, Jeff
Re: 2009 Fireworks Thread
All great shots....
Vreyens, I really like the second one. Great colors and explosions from top to bottom.

Re: 2009 Fireworks Thread
Great idea for a tread. I will probably post some of mine (if I got any decent ones) later after I look at them. And was thinking that the viewfinder would be the best place for them. Hard to crit. firework photos really.
Re: 2009 Fireworks Thread

Here's another one from last night. This is a single frame (no composite). ISO 100 f/8 @ 30 seconds.
Re: 2009 Fireworks Thread
here are a couple from july 1st, and two from some other city's random celebration.
canada day. (the one is kinda cut off because i kept trying to fill the whole frame with the burst, which is hard when they are exploding in different spots all the time. i came to the conclusion that from now on i will give myself plenty of room and then crop afterwards. i don't know why i didn't do that before)

Some nice fireworks shots here everyone! I was too lazy to try this year and just walked around town watching people blow their money up again.
Re: 2009 Fireworks Thread
Several very nice photos in this thread. I would like to thank all of you that posted your camera settings because it will give myself and the rest of the members viewing some idea as where to start when we attempt fireworks shots. After all isn't that what these forums are all about, sharing information and learning new things, Jeff
