Studio Lighting for Oilpainting capture. Help !

Im setting up studio for capturing digital files of Oil paintings and the like, fineart for Limited Edition.
Eos 50 D is the camera with prime lens.
1. Which configuration of lights with remote eliminating glare from oilpaintiings?
2. Painting sizes of 4x3 ft or bigger. 50D + stitching = good resolution equal to original possible? Or shall I go for 5DmkII or A900 ?
Glare elimination is job of lights and lens make any difference ? If yes, how?
