    Question about slave flash
    Hello everyone,

New guy here. I was just looking at a slave flash for a Fuji Finepix S6000fd (that I don't own yet, but hope to). It is a Bower SFDS. The picture in the ad (ebay) does not show how the camera and slave connect. Without some kind of wire, how would the two connect? Might be a dumb question, but I don't know the answer. Please enlighten me.

    Thank you.

Welcome, wb. Without knowing the particular model you mention, my guess is the slave flash has to be triggered by another flash firing, and so wouldn't be connected to the camera. Could you link to the ebay page?

    Re: Question about slave flash
Sorry it took me so long to get back. My wife wanted a turn on the computer.
Anyway, here's the link to the ebay unit: http://cgi.ebay.com/Slave-Flash-For-...em130084117735

Are you saying the slave gets triggered by some other external flash, other than the built in flash? I don't think this Finepix S6000 has a hotshoe. I'll have to double check that.

Nope. Triggered by a flash, including the built in one. It looks like the unit works the same way as most common slaves. The term "slave" implies that the flash works remotely, without a cord, triggered by a photo-electric cell...

Thanks Steve. I didn't realize they worked that way.
