Lullie Vintage Needs help with STUDIO LIGHTING

Hey everyone!
I run an online vintage shop

If you go to the sight, you can see that my photos of the models wearing the vintage I sell are taken outside and the lighting is awful! I want to start shooting indoors with a white backdrop.
I just bought a nikon D40...digital camera...slr

my one friend says to get an interfit kit, to get good lighting with a white backdrop...

any help would be so greatly appreciated! I may need to pay someone for private classes at my studio!
