    LightMeter?????????
Well i am posting this here, since is specific to studio photography more than anywhere else...

As such, i am looking to buy a lightmeter, and was wondering if there are any particular brands better than others (of course there are but you know what i mean)...

There was this german brand here Gossen or something like that selling for about $900...lightmeter and exposure meter is what the guy said!

I am doing my own research now, but was hoping someone could help direct me in the right direction!

    thanks in advance

If you are shooting Digital, the Sekonic L-758 DR (Digital Master) is the meter of the moment. It can be calibrated to your individual camera and has all kinds of new features including mid-tone adjustments for an example.

Four meters in one as well with Flash/Ambient/Incident/ 1 degree Spot.

Somewhere around $500 it seems to be a steal. There's a couple of accesories including the calibration target that ups the cost a bit.

Marketed as weather resistant on top of all that!

    Best wishes and happy shooting.

Yeah, you'd be hard pressed to find lighting situations that meter can't handle. On the other hand, it may be a lot more than the average shooter needs.

Another nice feature is the Pocket Wizard module that plus into some Sekonic meters. It lets you trigger your flashes remotely using the meter...

The Sekonic it is then... I will have to get it flown in then, since here there seems to be only one supplier of such equipment...LOL...

I've been using the Sekonic L358 and love the thing. No fancy 1 degree spot, but it does great for flash and ambient light.
