    home studio setup
    i have a £1000 budget to set up a small home studio,can somebody advise me on equipment please.i'm using a canon 20d with a 580ex
    an absolute novice.

    Go down to Jessops and take a look at their Portaflash flash heads. Its not solid enough for a professional but for occasional use they're fine. You could do with:

    - a main flash + stand
    - a fill-in + stand
    - a background light + stand + barndoors
    - a hair light + stand + snoot
    - a brolly
    - a circular reflector (like Lastolite)
