    Outdoor Lighting Choices?

I'd like to hear what you take with you when shooting outdoor portraits. With all of the ambient light is it as important to use a strobe? So, do you take your studio lights and softbox them, or simply attach an umbrella. Or do you just use a smaller flash? I know some will answer, "it depends on the situation, and your goals...." Im interested in your technique of choice based on the kind of photography YOU do (traditional portrait, fashion shoots, etc).

Strobes outside seem to be popular. I tend to like the Sun.

Seems that strobes outside are treated just like inside, with the addition of taking the ambient light into account. Many people use different setups just like in the studio.

How to tell the most experienced shooter in a group? They have the least amount of toys on them.
