    Backdrop stands
Need advice on a new portable backdrop stand. I'm looking for something that isn't too heavy and is big enough to handle portraits of a couple people. I was looking at backdrop outlet and b&h but I'm having a hard time deciding.

    Thanks for any help,
    Mike.

    Re: Backdrop stands
I ended up getting the lightweight portable kit from back drop outlet. They are very east to set up and move around. The center bar collapses into 4 separate pieces that fit very nicely into a carry bag with the two stands. The pole is wide enough for one of their 10 x20 foot muslins with extra room to spare.

Are you referring to the "Portable Backdrop Stand EX109?"

How does the crossbar attach to the stands? Are the stands general purpose of can they only be used to support backdrops. They list it as 9.6 feet wide, but it can support a 10 foot muslin?

Thanks for any information. I'm considering this one myself.

I might have bumped up one set. When assembled, the crossbar is 12ft, 6 inches wide. The kit is label Photek and on top of the stand is a stud with a 1/4 x 20 threaded post. On to the post goes another little adapter that can then have the slotted end of the crossbar resting on top of it.
