    Power pack question

    Hey guys,
I just picked up two cheap Ex100 heads . I was wondering if any of you have tried using an emergency power pack for remote shooting. Heres an example of one - http://www.amazon.com/Duracell-DPP-3...4143985&sr=1-8

i was wondering if any of you have tried this and if so could I power one or both lights off this. I wouldn't go above a 100 or 150w monolight.

    Thanks

    Jeff

    Re: Power pack question

I've tried this with a more expensive inverter that hooks to a car/motorcycle battery and it ran 1 light fine, but had intermittent failures trying to run 2. It was rated at 1500 watts and the monolights were 300ws each. You might look into the "vagabond II" from Paul C. Buff (alien bees) more expensive but it works, a friend has one and hasn't had any trouble at all with it using up to 4 heads.
