WIll the Track ever close for the season?

These are from last weekend at Talladega Grand Prix (TGPR) and it was FREEZING! The wind was brutal, don't let the photo's fool you. The fingers on my right hand will never be the same lol THe 2 little ones at the end are brothers and I promise you, they will be worth watching! Remember the name Gerloff :wink5:

wow, I thought it was all done I guess you learn something every day. You need to get some of the mittens that you can lift the finger part up and it's a cutoff glove (they are great for shooting in the cold).

    That second picture, #414
Took me a while to work out where his right arm is.

Last picture, looks like you got purple fringing.
It's really easy to correct in Lightroom - so easy even I can do it

Re: WIll the Track ever close for the season?

Yea, his right arm well, isnt. He got in an accident maybe 2 years ago (on the road) got hit when someone crossed the centerline and lost his arm, Ben is about 22 now and looked great riding this past weekend. I dont see the purple fringe, and I don't have lightroom, I use Irfanview because I dont have an editing program yet. Feel free to fix it so I can see the difference. I just sold their (the boys) photo CD but its not sent yet.

I'm not sure you'll see the difference, if you can't see it in the original.

Re: WIll the Track ever close for the season?

Partly the way the sensor responds to the bright light - the purple fringes on the front wheel.
Partly your lens, there is a consistent magenta shift right and down.
Partly the JPG conversion, I think it is causing the colours to "bleed" slightly.

Each of my "L" lenses behaves slightly differently, the 24-70 wide open and widest zoom always needs cyan fringe correction. The 100-400 needs different random corrections with the IS on, seems that it causes fringes in whatever direction the IS is moving.

I see that you had already cropped these photos a lot, I could see the pixels around the tyre edge, and enlarging them to 2x shows it clearly.

The pictures are great as always.

Just curious how the guy who lost his arms has his controls set up on the bike.

Great shots as always, Lori. It's amazing to see the lean angle those 125s get to - wow!

Re: Will the Track ever close for the season?

Here is a photo from the left side, it never occured to me to get a shot of his bike!
Anyway a little back tracking, his accident was in Feb of 2007, he is 18 yeas old now and one of the most incredible people I know.
Warren all of his controls have been converted to the left side, other than that the bike is the same as any other bike. Pretty amazing huh?
