I recall similar picture frustration with Audi at Sebring last year. I hung around their garage for over an hour while they were working, while other classes were on track. I never saw a valve cover, gearbox case, or even a brake disc! It's amazing how little you can be allowed to see in an open garage!

Looked like they were taking off the front suspension arm bolts, top and bottom.
Then possibly disconnecting the shock absorber too.
My guess is steering, unless they have hybrid front wheel drive.

If the car was "Quattro" (and I think that's all Audi runs this year,) then something in the front drive may well have been the project at that moment.

If that's where the hybrid drive is, then yes.
That also could explain the disconnection of the front wishbone and damper - if working on the drive to the wheels.

Side tracking a bit here but have you all heard anything about what Audi is going to do when there class is being eliminated in this blending process that will be taking place over the next few years ? I fear they may have engineered themselves out of a job.

That class issue is just in the US. The European sanctioning will still have LMP1.

ALMS began with bringing the FIA MeMans rules structure to US road racing, but the LMP1 class changed enough for 2014, with serious changes in the way cars are restricted, and I rather believe that the new merged sanctioning body just said "The heck with it, we don't need that top class."
