    Spoiled, that's what I am
I took the 1DSmkII, 1DmkIIN and the 20D as backup to a karting event.
Eventually the batteries on the 1D died, yes I know it usually goes for a day, but I hadn't charged them before the race because I knew it was only a 3 hour endurance.
Yes, I know, I forgot qualifying.
So I shot a lot of the later racing with the 20D.

Not that much of it was in focus.
Or that the karts were in the frame for the first few shots.

I realise now just how good the 1D bodies are, in comparison.
I'm sure in low light conditions the 20D had over a half second shutter lag.
But the viewfinder was so small and dark that even with my glasses I couldn't see to manual focus and shoot without AF.

Amazingly out of one card I actually got 6 usable shots.
Can you tell, which camera was which?

LOL, yeah Paul, I know the feeling! When my 1D (the original) died and was out getting repaired I used the 300D and felt like I had jumped back in time 4 years before I had the 1D and the results were less than what I expected.

Yes, he turned up mid-race from another charity drive.
I think these photos are poignant, though at web resolution you might not see why.

He'd been given a history of Hesketh racing magazine to sign for the charity, and before signing it he went off to read it. I couldn't resist the opportunity when I saw the page with James' photo on it.

Thats neat that he went off to read through it, I would do the same. Looking at the cover it looks like the 1975 hesketh on it!
