    Oregon Cyclocross

Well cyclocross season is almost here... We have had a couple of week day races before the season kicks off in full force... I thought I would get some practice in. Shots were taken with a 10D with a Tamaron 70-300 F4-5.6. Most of the night I had it set to Appeture priority because it was in the trees on a cloudy evening. I also had the flash on rear curtain. Let me know your thoughts.
    Enjoy

    Ok

    SunnySideUp-
The first one is cropped way too tight. And the second, while I love the ghost effect, is overexposed. It needed a shorter exposure to make the rider show up a little better. I do like this effect, though - I use it all the time.

Practice, practice, practice. It's good to see you warming up for the season. I did the same before Sea Otter, this spring. Sports photographers have to practice and warm up, just like athletes do. Seems like my best photo is always the last one....

Thanks for the comments John. I am finding the the universial lense that I was using for my film camera is a little to close when used on the 10D. Something about the first photo got me because of the green background against the rider.

The second photo I have a question. You said that it was over exposed... Would you say the backgroud was over exposed or just the rider? I was hoping for the "poping" effect but I think that the onboard flash just isn't enough to do that.
    Thanks
    Shane
