    Well-Deserved!
That's a great photo, Shai! I tried to shoot kiteboarding once and was totally furstrated at how hard it was to get the rider and sail in the same shot. And in this photo you really got it all - SF, rider, sail - an Alcatraz! Awesome! This is such a great photo - one for printing and hanging on the wall, even! Thanks for sharing the published image, too. I like seeing stuff in print like this.

    Thanks.

I was hired for a comercial shoot for F-One ( the manufacturer of the equipment ). We were shooting at the Golden Gate Bridge. On the way to the bridge , we passed Alcatraz and as I looked back I realized that it would be a great back drop for a shot. The gloomy day was actually a positive. So, after we were one with the Golden Gate Bridge shoot . I asked the boarders to head to Alcatraz. I asked Alex ( the boarder) to jump at a specific spot. At that spot he would be framed bu Alcatraz and San Francisco. He did it exactly right the first time. The fairy in the background was just by accident. I didn't even notice it at the time.

The shot was done with my D3s and 14-24mm f2.8

Thanks for the background info, Shai. What kind of boat were you in? This looks like you were able to shoot from a pretty low angle.

It was a 22 or 23 foot boat. I sat on that little deck that hangs off the back. Sorry, don't know what it's called.

That's good enough for me. I don't know the names of different boats, anyway. I'm mostly a dry land guy - especially since I live in Utah now :)
