    dave,

I like the first and last. the lighting is very nice in all of them, but the shadow over the face is a little distracting. I just recently came across an amazing photographer's golf site, check out http://www.photovf.com/news3.html if you get a chance. the kid's 19!

    The first one is stellar.

Really nice! I tend to like the "different" view of things. The use of a creative lighting technique really takes these beyond a simple golf shot.

I love the first shot....but they are all good.....

I will be doing some when my son's golf team starts up in the spring, but of course they are all "Day Matches..."...LOL....

Sorry Dave, but golf isn't a sport in my book :p :D Which is why I won't shoot it even when the paper begs me too.
Anyway, nice job on the photos  the next time the paper needs someone to shoot golf I'll have them call you :) you a lot better than the staff photog does! :D

 Thanks for the compliments! Sounds like a deal. Um and not to start a flame war  but don't you shoot Nascar? Are you saying that driving a car at high speeds in circles is more of a sport than golf? :D

I agree the shadows are a pain. I think next time, I'm going to snoot another flash that I have and his him in the face with it to make sure the light is better. I think I would also like to have a flag near the ball in the first shot. Small addition, but I think it would be a worth while addition.

Great link! Very impressive shots.

Actually YES! It takes a lot more strength to drive 400 or 500 miles in 3 to 5 hours at high speed than it does to walk or ride a golf cart and swing at a ball that isn't moving. Theres a lot more physical exertion in racing than people realize. And to ME golf is just plain boring. It's also too "proper" for my taste, and at least with racing you get some wild action :D

Hahaha, one of my coworkers is huge in to racing. All I here about is how tire companies make special tires to correspond to certain tracks, how crazy it is to sit in a car that gets really hot and drive really fast, Viagra cards, blah, blah, blah. LOL. I do agree that it could be a sport, but only when they get hectic and start pulling double backflips. :D

LOL, I can say I have never seen a golfer in the weight room :p , while in racing you see both drivers and crew members working out daily :D I used to tease one photographer because he was always talking about shooting golf and kept telling him it was because he couldn't stay awake long enough to shoot anything else, it was just his speed.... worse yet he agreed with me! This guy used to fall asleep standing up on the sidelines of a football game!

Anyway back on subject, you did very well with these, and doing it at night made it much more interesting, espescially to someone like me.

Funny. Thanks. It was a challenge and I think a re-shoot will be coming...I've had some ideas come up.

If you are going do a re-shoot I would suggest having your model be a little more authentic. IE the golf shoes and clothes. If you are going to do it. Do it right. :) Unless you were making a statement, of course.

As for golfers not weight training. I think Tiger changed that philosophy.

And yes, I fail to understand the popularity in NASCAR and oval tracks. Unless the oval track is ice or dirt it is pretty boring even for Indy. But I guess beer makes any sport interesting. :)

Going to differ and say I'm not much on the first as its a big black rectangle with some scattered details.
I like the third better. Good crative use of light all around though.

As for cars going in circles its all about the crashes.

Nope, no statement at all. It was actually pretty off the cuff. We both play golf a lot and decided to head out just see what we could get. I feel maybe some knickers, a shirt/tie, and stylish hat coming...perhaps

Yes... it makes the difference between a great shot and a great shot that I would enlarge and hang on my wall.

You could possiblily go old school. I had some old bamboo clubs at one time. They would have went with the knickers and that hat.

If you are going to reshoot. Here are a couple of other things that have come accross.

    1. Where is the pin?
    2. Put some light in the hole and see how that looks.
