    Girls LaX

Hi, all. Not much of a poster in these parts but I thought I'd share some images from this season.

My first time shooting lacrosse so any suggestions/comments to improve would be greatly appreciated.

Not use to seeing you in this neck of the woods Loupey. By the looks of this group of pic you need to be over here more often, nice job. Good capture on the action and some super facial expressions.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I like the action a lot on these. Great job capturing it. For me the PP could use some work. #2 is closest for my taste.
#1 the WB is odd. A bit blueish.
#3 needs some more contrast and blacks pumped up.
#4 is pretty close. But could use to be brightened and more contrast too.

Thanks for the welcome, OT I've been shooting more human animals lately so I suppose I'll be branching out of N&W more often.

Thank you, zerodog, this is very helpful to me. I've am very weak in PP people and it seems that every computer/monitor I use to view and edit my photos renders the colors ever so slightly differently (I don't have a calibrator) and I never know exactly how other people are seeing my work.

Question: for outdoor venues like these, is it important to try to render the images so that the actual outdoor conditions are represented in the image? Most of these games were late in the evening (between 6 and 7:30 pm) and so dealing with the color temperature was something I grappled with in terms of how to render the images.

    Re: Girls LaX

Love these photos, Loupey! I like the weird goggles they're wearing and I like the flock-like feel in each image. To my eye, there's a little more to these than just the sport of lacrosse.

Also, I know that moderators aren't supposed to be able to have their photos featured. But I'm the boss so I can break the rules. Plus, the sports forum has been a little slow and these photos definitely deserve more attention.

Thanks for sharing and congratulations on getting the Featured Photo this week!

Thanks! All of them were taken with the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS on the 50D. I did use my 2xII TC occasionally (although I don't recall off-hand if it was used on these particular shots).
