    Girls JR Softball Tournament

I have been busy all week after my real job shootring the Girls JR Softball Tournament. They just finished the last game yesterday...and it was a HOT long week....

Thought a would post a few shots I got.....had to shoot through the fence, which made it hard to move a lot....

But let me know what you think...

Great catch on the slide sequence and your timing was spot on on the hitters. Nice work! Those long hot days can really take a lot out of you and can tend to make you get a little sloppy with the way you approach your work. Glad to see that didn't happen to you. I find that having to shoot through chain link is more the norm than the exception with youth league ball. It's not so bad if you get the right angles and can shoot straight through. Looks like you conquered that challenge too.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Shooting through the fence, well you did a great job on that first series. Other than the horizon, which can be rough when shooting the action through a fence, those shots are very nice.

Also great timing on the hitting shots.

I'm excited that so many of our regular contributors on the sports forum are ladies. As anyone that hangs out on the sidelines can tell you the number of women there with cameras is growing every year. We have a mom photographer at our local high school that supplies most of the images for the local paper and the yearbook. Keep it up ladies.

    Aw, thanks OT.

I keep seeing a few more gals on the sidelines, but for the most part in football I'm the lone wolf.

When I first came here I was the only girl. It's great to see more and more.

    Re: Girls JR Softball Tournament

Well everyone here is such an inspiration, and mentors. I see what you guys do, and do my best to try to do the same...which...I am still working on. During our school functions, I am the only one on the sidelines...be it male or female....everyone during football is afraid of getting hurt....LOL...and I am doing my best NOT to follow in Jeta's...footsteps there....

I hope you are still improving from you football injury last year!
You should have been presented an award after that season...maybe something like the purple heart...you earned it...

LOL! Please do not follow in my footsteps in this area.

Last night a bunch of the players were over here (eating me out of house and home). They were cracking up and telling me how the head coach was screaming at them to toughen up and be more like Julie! She walked on a broken leg and continued to shoot us in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.... I guess he was showing my moment on film.

I was just dying just hearing about it. LOL
