    Girls High School Hockey
A nice bright 2 year old arena, with really dirty glass.. allowed for 1/1000 shutter speed at ISO 3200, BUT the only way to really shoot players besides the goaltender were through the glass. That led to a few really 'soft' shots.

    1. There's no puck, but the eyes made the picture for me

    2. Team captain, to show just how soft some pictures ended up

    3. The captain's sister

    4. From the bleachers, figured I needed at least 1 goaltender shot since it was a shutout.. it's a little bit over-fixed in noise reduction, though the paint on the ice was that dull to begin with.

Some really nice action here. It's great to be able to shoot at 1/1000 in any indoor facility really makes a difference on a fast paced sport like hockey. Nice job on the white balance with the ice, your colors are very good.

Through the glass would have been really good if I could have .. or if they had.. cleaned the glass.. all 3 of us there shooting were in the same boat and everything I've seen looks the same. Shooting another team Friday night, in a decent lit arena that usually has good clean glass but it's also that arena's second season so we'll see just how clean it is.

It's my first time around to these arena's with the 50D, only had the Rebel XS for last season with the more limited reach of the Tokina 50-135, so I hope to get shutter speeds of 1/800 to 1/1000 at 3 area arenas anyway.
