A few from a recent game at MSU.

That first one is great! They're all good, really. But the first one really jumps out at me - probably because you can really see the shooter's face.

What ISO are you shooting at, again? 6400? I assume you use continuous auto focus? What focus point do you use? How many throwaways do you have because they're out of focus?

I agree the first is really nice. I also really like the third! You can just make out his face and the action is so dynamic. Nice work!

With the D3S I shoot in this arena at ISO 6400 with a shutter speed of 640 and an aperture of f2.8. I do use continuous auto focus with a single focus point just right of center since I'm shooting mainly verticals. With the D3S my throwaway rate is much lower than I had expected, and I can honestly say that if I am generally at fault if I get out of focus images. Throw away is probably less than 10%. With 9 fps there are lots of frames that I don't process.
