    Does this Count as Sports?
Although it wasn't a photo assignment, I was asked to judge the ESPN's 23rd Annual Fitness America competition. I took my camera and snapped some images after the performances and my balet was filled out since I had one of the best seats in the house. ;)

    Hmm not sure.
If we include action & sports they'd qualify ;)

I presume there's a judging panel, how on earth do you establish judging criteria?

Well I for one have counted girl watching as a favorite sport for many many years. Yes Matt I think this qualifies and feel free to post more here on the Sport forum.

    mattbikeboy,

After viewing the shapely fems pictured here I don't care whether or not this event is classified as a sport!

    The judging criteria:
Each competitor does some sort of dance, tumbling, gymnastics, wiggling or jiggling.
Fitness Performance Round – 45% of Score
    Execution – 25%
    Difficulty – 25%
    Creativity – 25%
    Appearance – 25%

That is followed by the swimwear round:
Swimsuit Round – 45% of Score
    Poise and Presence – 25%
    Body Condition – 25%
    Femininity – 25% (Women)
    Masculinity – 25% (Men)
    Appearance – 25%

And finally the interview for the top 5:
Interview Round – 10% of Score

It was actually pretty tough to judge dance verses gymnastics etc since some were really good and made their routine look easy while others made their routines look difficult. I ended up just going for the ones that looked good and had a solid performance then took photos after I filled out my score card. I think I'd rather shoot the event than judge it.
