Shooting Figure Skating - Any Suggestions

I'm going to be shooting a young lady figure skating this evening. It's actually a practice session for her... and for me, before shooting her in competition this weekend. I've never shot at an ice rink before. (Small arena, I'll have access anywhere I need, including the hockey benches.) Anyone have any suggestions about shooting in this enviroment?

Very good idea doing a test shoot before the actual event. That's usually my first advice for anyone shooting something they've never shot before.

So what kind of equipment are you using? You should update your profile page and list your equipment. I haven't shot on an ice rink. But I imagine a 70-200 f/2.8 lens would do the trick. Are you shooting film or digital? I imagine you'll need to shoot at a fairly high ISO unless you have a flash. And you might not want to use a flash anyway as it might ruin the atmosphere.

Tell me more! Maybe we can dig up a hockey photographer to give some more specific advice.

I'll be shooting with a Canon 10D with a 70-200 f/2.8L lens. No flash. One plus that I do have is that it is a very small arena, so if I remember correctly (haven't been there for a while), the lighting is much brighter than your typical large ice arenas.
