These are great, Matty! I dig rodeo photos. I like the first and third photos the most.

Please give us some technical details about how you shot these. What gear were you using? Did you have a media pass or were you just shooting from the stands?

Hi Photo-John

All shots were taken with the Canon Rebel XS (1000D) with the kit 70-300mm lens

First shot : 1/1600sec, f/5.6 @ 180mm
2nd shot : 1/1600sec, f/5 @ 180mm
3rd shot : 1/1600sec, f/6.3 @ 180mm
4th shot : 1/1600sec, f/5 @ 210mm
5th shot : 1/1600sec, f/5.6 @ 190mm

Its kind of a small event, so there was no Media passes, was just shooting from the stands....When i say small, there is probably 4000 people there, but held in a small town and all proceeds go to charity...The president of the rodeo committee is my managers dad and he had never seen photos from the event before, so not sure if anyone has bothered before lol
