Welcome Tim. I have the 350 and think you are going to love shooting. Now get some shots and post them for us to see. If you ask for C&C (criticism & critique), you will get some great advice. Listen and learn fast. – TF

    Welcome!

Don't forget to write a Sony Alpha DSLR-A300 user review once you've gotten to know it.

    Hello Tim,

I am new too. I must say, this seems to be a great place to read and learn from the other guys. I am still shooting mostly film, but plan on buying at least one Sony digital body this year.

    Glad to meet ya,
    Phil

Welcome! You will love shooting Sony! Now you just gotta grab your nifty fifty, the Minolta 50mm f1.7, its pennies, great focal range, fast prime - great lens to learn on.

We have a great Sony community here too, so stick around.

I too am new and I love my a300-got it for Christmas. Just learning and trying to find inexpensive macro and wide lenses to just get a feel for what I want to photograph. I have the kit lens (18-70) and bought the 75-300 at a price I couldn't pass up. I think DSLR is really great!!

Welcome Hollybear. Be sure to check out all the older Minolta lenses for your Sony. There are some really great values. - TF
