    A77

Good to see you all again.

I bought a Sony A77 recently. I also bought Gary Freedman's book and have spent some time learning about the camera. The last few days I paired it with my Sigma 150-500mm lens and have been very pleased with the results.

I went to the Texas City Dike, one of my favorite birding areas, before work this morning. I still have some processing to finish. I will post more in the wildlife section later.

That looks great! What were your exposure settings? Were you using continuous auto focus? In the large version on Flickr it looks like it might be a hair soft. Am I right about that or am I just imaging it?

f8, 1/640, ISO 320, Sigma 150-500mm @ 150. He was so close, I was trying to track and twist the zoom ring at the same time. But, I do like the photo
I did not want to cut off anything like this one:

    ISO 400, f11, 1/640 Sigma 150-500 @400mm

Shot at Brazos Bend under similar circumstances.

It does look soft, I was using 'spot focus'. I will probably try 'Zone' in the near future.

I took the camera with the 70-210 f4 "Beercan" today, but work was too hectic for any shooting time.
