Would you consider this lens to be in good condition?

I am set on buying a Minolta 35-70 f/4 lens for my A230. After looking for a while, I found what seems like a good deal. Its a Minolta Maxxum 5000 SLR film camera with a Minolta 35-70mm f/4 plus a Minolta Maxxum 1800 AF flash plus a skylight UV protection filter, a yellow filter for B&W, a polarizer filter, a body cap and a case for the flash. Considering the lens by itself will be about $40, and for $10 I can have a film camera to play with, and a couple of filters for my new lens. I asked the seller to send me some better pictures of the lens, as the one provided just wasn't cutting it. The lens looks to be a pretty good condition, but I wanted to get your guys opinion on weather or not I should buy it.

So what do you guys think? should I buy? or pass this one up? looks to be nothing more then dust.

Sure.

However, keep in mind that flash won't work with your A230, the voltage wont match and the hotshoe is the old maxxum style.

of course, the flash is basically a stock flash.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I know about the flash. I'm getting a flash for my A230 later on.

Did you get it? Is the polarizer a circular?

Its said that linear polarizers interfere with AF, but they work fine on my A700, I'd give it a shot anyway.

No I didn't get it, I noticed that the Macro button was missing on it. I ended up paying $43 for just the lens, but its in near mint condition, so I'm ok with it.

I found this website listing trigger voltages for old flashes. Sounds like a good time to re-post it, pretty handy.

Though you did not get the package, the info comes in handy. BTW, the chart shows that flash trigger voltage at 1.88 volts. With a FS-1100, it would work in manual only.

Battery holder for 7000 are on ebay. Sometimes priced higher than a working 7000 maxxum camera, especially if it is a AA instead of AAA batteries.
