Sony Alpha 33/55 & Older Minolta Maxxum Lens
I have a Minolta Maxxum AF 35-105mm F3.5-4.5 lens acquired in early 90's mounted to a Minolta 400si/qd body. Popular Photography indicates that most Maxxum lenses will work on the new Alpha 33 or 55 cameras. (This lens does not have the AF/M button on the lens, but is controlled by a button on the camera body.) Will this lens work properly on the 33/55?

Yes, that lens should work just fine... Basically, any of the Maxxum lenses and newer work seamlessly with the current Sony Alpha (aXX, aXXX) cameras. They also work with the smaller Nex-X cameras with an optional adapter.

Don't worry about the AF/MF button on lens vs camera body. It should go back and forth between Manual and AutoFocus just fine using the on body button..

I use many older Minolta and Konica-Minolta lenses on my Sony gear.. No worries...
