Re: Sony A330
The A330 is a fine camera and the new kit lens is supposed to be much better than the old one. The A330 does have a slightly different shape (not bad, just different), so you may want to actually hold one (and others to compare) before buying.
I bought into the A3xx Sony line for the:
In body image stabilization – All lenses are stabilized including excellent old Minolta glass.
Fast Focus Live View – Shoot from the LCD on the back with the same focus system as through the viewfinder.
I don’t know of any A330 specific sites, but I see images from it all the time.
I think you will like it and hope to see some shots posted here from whatever you get.

Re: Sony A330
Ive started doing more research and now i think im torn between 3 cameras. The A330, A380 and the Canon Digital Rebel XSi (450D). Ive been racking my brain hard these past couple days trying to figure out which one I want. What do you guys think? What I want is the best quality picture for under $800 USD.If you guys know of a different kind of camera in this price lane let me know! im getting the camera on Feb 1. So I have a while to do some good research.

Re: Sony A330
You might still find an A700 for $ 800. I've been using the A100 for 3 years, but I just got one of the lasts A700 (with 16-105mm lens, so way more than $ 800).

Unless there is some specific need, the A330 and A380 are a trade off - buy on price. The Canon is also a great camera. I listed the advantages of the Sony above. Do they matter to you or not? - TF

Re: Sony A330
I guess it really doesnt matter to me. Im probably going to go with the Sony A330 or 380 simply because I already have glass for the sony Because I have a Minolta Maxxum 7000I. The glass I have is a 50MM 1.7 and a 70 - 210 4.5-5.6 the 50MM is a pretty old glass it came with the camera whe my grandfather got it in the 80's

Re: Sony A330
Hey guys I went to the local camera shop today and looked at a couple cameras. I think im going to get the A380. Now my biggest problem is.. should I get the a380 that comes with the 18mm-55mm AND 55mm-200mm glass which is $899 or should I get the A380 with just the 18 - 55mm glass for $699 Now I have a Minolta 70 - 210mm from my 35mm I just dont know if the sony glass would be better than the minolta or what.

Re: Sony A330
Which 70-210? Constant f/4, f/3.5-4.5 or f/4.5-5.6? - TF

Re: Sony A330
Personally, I would go with the 18-55 kit and (as budget allowed) pick up used Minolta 50 f/1.7, 35-70 f/4 and a 70-210 f/4 (Total about $300). - TF

Re: Sony A330
would those lenses be on ebay? or is there another site that i dont know about

Re: Sony A330
keh.com, adorama.com. The 50mm f/1.7 can be found nearly anywhere, if theres a shop around that has used gear they would likely have it. The 70-210 and 35-70 are also pretty common and easy to find, though not as easy as the 50.

It's just 'cut & paste' spam. Google the subject, cut & paste a line or two from what turns up and add your spam link at the borrom. - TF
