Sony a200 problems.
I have a Sony a200. Sony DT 18-70mm 1:3.5-5.6 lens on it. When i take a photo with the lens fully zoomed out. There is a dark shadow / spot on the bottom center of the photo. when i soom it back in and take a photo. The shadow / spot is not there.
Any one have any ideas on this issue.
Thanks

Re: Sony a200 problems.
Anything look bad or move when you look through the lens off the camera and use the zoom?
Could you post examples?

I do not see any thing wrong with the camera or the lens.

Re: Sony a200 problems.
Are you using the on board flash? Looks like a shadow caused by the lens or lens hood.. Very common issue.

Re: Sony a200 problems.
Yes using the on board flash. Why would it be on the bottom of the picture? The flash is on the top of the camera.

Re: Sony a200 problems.
This explains it. It is from Nikon but no difference.

Re: Sony a200 problems.
A shoe mount flash is less acceptable to this cause it sits higher up. I should have added that in the last post.

Re: Sony a200 problems.
Doesn't explain what the shadow is on the bottom of the picture.

Re: Sony a200 problems.
It was the lens hood. I removed the hood and the shadow is not there. Still don't understand what the shadow would be on the bottom of the pictures. Thanks for the help..

Re: Sony a200 problems.
Did you not go to the link I posted? It has an example that looks just like your picture and then an illustration showing why it happens.

Re: Sony a200 problems.
