Hi, Nice place, new to the group. I was wondering if anyone has info on the installation of the vertical control grip for the 7D. Mainly, need to know if the camera battery box cover has to be removed...

By the looks of this picture it appears to have the nook where the battery cover would fit into. So no, the battery cover would not have to be removed. Good choice! Honestly - once you see it, its incredibly easy to put together, if you can put on a lens you can put on a grip...
