    a77, It's here

It came in today and I am charging the battery. I will tell you that so far just playing around for a minute the AF is FAST. Even in low light and with live view. The live view goes off when you put the camera up to your eye and the VF comes on.
I hope I get some time with it the next few days so if you have anything specific you want me to check out let me know.

Well, day one. I did get to shoot some today, on the run. Some of my first impressions.
First the a77 focuses fast. Real fast and not much trouble in low light and in live view.. The finder has a level gauge that really helps. The finder is bright and clear and I had to double check to make sure I was really looking at a EVF. It's that clear.
The menu and navagation is real easy to figure out. Not much use for a manual. The buttons are laid out nice and it is easy to operate.
I haven't had much time to check the noise levels but from what I see out of the box high ISOs are going to be real clean. 3200iso and lower. The pano feature works real good too.
John the Nex 7 may be camera of the year but the a77 is going to give it a run for the money.
Weather permitting I am going out for some night shooting this weekend.

I'm psyched to get my hands on one. I'll have it before summer 2012, hopefully it will land on sale before then, I'm thinking the kit 16-50 might be the way to go, wish there was more than a $100 break on the deal though.

Charles I am very impressed. I can't wait to try some long exposures at 50iso. You won't be sorry if you get one. I think Sony is ahead of everyone, by far. Nikon and Canon are going to be playing catch up if their not careful. I showed a friend of mine the 12fps and he couldn't stop laughing he was so impressed. The pano option is great too.
I need some lens options for later on. I need a fast zoom for my daughters soccer games and a nice macro lens too. Any ideas?
